This fifteen-thousand-meter square warehouse was ‘designed+built ‘with a concrete sub structure and a steel framed super structure. The clayey nature of the site’s soil necessitated some intricate earth engineering. A 1.2m thick bed of boulders was created to stabilize the bad ground. Wide concrete footings were placed on the boulders and overlaid with a thick concrete slab to carry the heavy loads of cocoa to be stored. Large patches of green areas strewing the external area ensures a cool micro climate.
